What it does
Live to the second
Days, hours, minutes and seconds update continuously, next to a large D-day figure that is easy to read from across a room.
Counts up as well
When the date has passed, the page shows how many days have gone by, with an option to count the first day as day 1 for anniversaries.
Several saved events
Keep a list of exams, trips and birthdays. Each shows its own countdown, and edits are saved as you type.
Shareable link
A link carries the event name, date and time, so the person who opens it sees the same countdown without having to enter anything.
Full-screen view
Fill the screen with the countdown for a classroom, an office wall or a stream. The Esc key leaves full screen.
Good to know
D-day figures follow calendar days: the day before the event is D-1, the day itself is D-Day and the day after is D+1. If you add a time, the seconds counter runs to that exact moment in your device's time zone, while the D figure still follows the date.
Anniversaries are often counted with the first day as day 1. Tick "Count the first day as day 1" and the 100th day after an event shows as "Day 100" while the D figure stays D+99. Saved events and the last event you viewed stay in this browser; shared links hold only the event name, date and time.
Questions and answers
What does D-10 mean?
It means ten calendar days remain until the date. D-Day is the day itself, and D+1 is the day after.
Can I count the days since a past date?
Yes. Choose a date in the past and the page counts up as D+ with the number of days that have passed.
How do I share a countdown?
Click "Copy share link" and send the link. Opening it shows the same event, and the visitor can save it to their own list.
Where are my saved events kept?
In this browser on this device. They are not uploaded, and clearing site data removes them.
Does the countdown run if the tab is in the background?
The display is recalculated from the clock each time it updates, so it is correct as soon as you return to the tab.
How do I show the countdown on a big screen?
Click the full-screen button at the top right of the countdown and press Esc to leave.
