What it does
One sheet per page
Page 1 goes to sheet "Page 1", page 2 to "Page 2", so it is easy to find where a value came from.
Automatic columns
Wide gaps between words mark cell edges, and cells at the same position across the page line up in the same column.
Numbers stay numbers
Values like 1,250 or 12.5% are stored as numbers you can sum and sort. Codes with leading zeros stay as text.
Scanned pages
Pages without a text layer are read with text recognition before going into the sheet.

Good to know
A PDF does not store which column a word belongs to, so this tool groups words by their horizontal position to find the columns. It is most accurate on tidy tables such as bank statements, quotes and price lists.
Cells with wrapped text or merged cells can split into extra rows or shift into a neighboring column. Check column widths and totals in Excel after converting, and use PDF to Word for pages that are mostly running text.
