Add a watermark to images

Mark your photos with text or a logo before you share them. Set it up once with a live preview, and every image in the batch gets the same watermark at the right scale.

Add one or more images (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and more).

or drop files here

Files never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Add the photos with "Choose files" or drop them onto the page.
  2. Under "Watermark", pick "Text" and type your "Watermark text", or pick "Logo" and click "Choose logo".
  3. Adjust the size, opacity, angle and "Position", or choose "Repeat across the image", while you watch the preview.
  4. Click "Add watermark", then download each photo or use "Download all (ZIP)".

What it does

  • Text or logo

Write one or more lines in Sans-serif, Serif or Monospace, bold or italic, in white, black, gray, red, blue or any color. A PNG, SVG, JPG, WebP or GIF logo works too, and transparency is kept.

  • Nine positions or a tiled pattern

Place the mark in a corner, along an edge or in the center, or repeat it across the whole picture with adjustable space between the copies.

  • Scales with every photo

The size is a percentage of the image width, so the watermark looks the same on a small phone shot and a large camera photo.

  • Fine control

Outline and shadow keep light text readable on bright areas. Opacity, the distance from the edge and the angle, with quick −45°, 0°, 45° and 90° buttons, are all adjustable.

  • Preview on any image

Check the result on each photo in the batch with the previous and next buttons or the list before you save.

  • Settings remembered

Your text and layout are kept in this browser for next time. The logo file is not stored, and "Reset settings" restores the defaults.

Good to know

A visible watermark shows who a photo belongs to and discourages people from reusing it without asking. A small mark in a corner stays out of the way of the subject, and lowering the opacity keeps it discreet. A tiled pattern at a low opacity covers the whole picture and is much harder to crop out, which suits proofs and sample images you send to clients before they buy.

Each image keeps its format, except GIF, BMP, HEIC and AVIF, which are saved as JPG, or as PNG if they have transparency; the quality slider controls JPG and WebP compression. Camera details and location data are not copied, so the shared copies don't reveal where the pictures were taken. Files are named with -watermarked at the end. To watermark a document rather than a picture, use Watermark PDF.

Questions and answers

How do I put my logo on a photo?

Choose "Logo" under "Watermark", click "Choose logo" and select the file. A PNG or SVG with a transparent background looks cleanest, because only the logo itself shows on the photo.

Can I watermark many photos at once?

Yes. Add them together, and the same text or logo, size and position are applied to each one, scaled to that image's width.

How do I make a watermark harder to remove?

Choose "Repeat across the image" so the mark covers the whole picture, and give it an angle such as 45°. No visible watermark is impossible to remove, but a tiled one takes far more effort to edit out.

Is my logo stored anywhere?

No. The logo stays on your device and is forgotten when you leave the page, while your other watermark settings are kept in this browser.

Does the site add its own watermark to my photos?

No. Only the watermark you design is added, and the site never puts a mark of its own on your images.
