How to use it

What it does

  • Three ways to sign

    Draw on the screen, type your name in a script, serif or plain style, or use a photo of a signature on paper.

  • White background removed

    The white paper in a signature photo is made transparent, so it sits naturally on the document.

  • Place and resize

    Drag the signature onto the line and resize it with the corner dot. Add as many signatures as you need on any page.

  • Dates and initials too

    Use Add text for the date or your name, and the Pen for ticks and initials.

  • No upload

    The signature and the document stay on your device; nothing is sent to a server or kept afterwards.

Good to know

This tool places your signature on the page as a picture, which suits everyday paperwork such as confirmations, consent forms and replies to quotes. Signatures can be black or blue, and when drawing with a finger, turning your phone sideways gives you more room.

It is not a certificate-based digital signature. If a document legally requires a digital signature, follow the method the organization asks for. Anyone can copy a signed file, so consider adding an edit restriction with Protect PDF before sending it.

Questions and answers

Can I sign a PDF for free?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and nothing is stamped on your file.

Can I sign on my phone?

Yes. Write in the Draw box with your finger. Turning the phone sideways makes the box wider and easier to write in.

Is this a legally binding e-signature?

It adds a picture of your signature, which is different from a certificate-based digital signature. Check what the recipient accepts if it matters.

Is my signature saved?

No. It is used for this file only and isn't stored on your device or any server, so you create it again next time.

I put the signature in the wrong place.

Drag it to the right spot, or delete it and add it again. Undo also steps back one change at a time.
