What to eat wheel
Stuck on what to have for lunch or dinner? Spin the wheel and let it choose from a ready-made list of common dishes.
How to use it
- Look at the starting list under "Entries, one per line": common dishes such as pizza, burgers, sushi, tacos and pasta.
- Edit the list to fit your table. Delete what you do not want, and add your usual dishes, local restaurants or recipes you want to try, one per line.
- Click "Spin" and the dish appears in a pop-up under "The winner is".
- Not tonight? Click "Spin again", or "Remove from list" to take that dish off the wheel.
Good to know
"What shall we eat?" is a small question that can hold up a whole group, especially when everyone says they do not mind. A wheel breaks the tie quickly and in public, so nobody feels outvoted. It works for lunch at the office, a family dinner or a weekend meal out, and "Full screen" lets the whole table watch the spin.
The wheel works best when every slice is acceptable. Before you spin, remove anything someone cannot eat for allergy, dietary or budget reasons, because the wheel knows nothing about people's needs.
Planning a week of dinners? Turn on "Remove the winner after each spin" and spin once per evening, and no dish repeats. Your edited list stays on this device, separate from the main wheel, and "Copy share link" puts it into a link so the rest of the household can open the same wheel. The full Spin the wheel tool is one click away in the breadcrumb.
Questions and answers
Which foods are on the wheel?
It starts with a ready list of common dishes, among them pizza, burgers, sushi, tacos, pasta, ramen, salad and fried chicken. You can change every line.
Can I use my own list of dishes or restaurants?
Yes. Replace the list with anything you like, one entry per line, up to 500. Restaurant names, cuisines and recipe titles all work.
How do I plan several dinners without repeats?
Tick "Remove the winner after each spin". Each dish leaves the wheel once it is chosen, so the next spin picks from what is left.
Is the choice really random?
Yes. Each spin uses the browser's cryptographic random number generator, so every dish on the list has the same chance, and a dish listed twice gets two slices.
Does the page remember my changes?
It keeps your edited list on this device, apart from the main wheel. "Copy share link" copies a link that carries the list itself, so nothing is stored on a server.
